Legislative Updates

Hello, welcome to CANYs legislative information section. The material that you find here is meant to inform you and to give you an opportunity to become an active advocate for the many and diverse opportunities that we have to enjoy the outdoors here in New York. It is important that each of us contact our legislators and let them know of our interests and of our support for outdoor recreation, and that we understand and respect the interest of others. It is also important to meet with your assembly person and your state senator in person in their district offices. Get to know them personally. Invite them to special events and club meetings. The outcome may surprise you.

Much of he information found here will be in the form of bill summaries. To most I will add some comment, some are pretty much self-explanatory and won't need anything from me. You will find links to both the assembly and senate web pages, where you can find the full text of the bills if you so wish. Don't get too excited about any bill until you read the full text, as often the summaries are a bit misleading.
