Free Take-A-Kid-Fishing Program

The annual Take-A-Kid Fishing trip is open to all youngsters born between 8/1/89 (15 yrs. 10 mos.) and 6/4/96 (9 years old) who reside in NY, VT, MA, CT, NJ and PA. In total, 125 names will be drawn on Apr. 23. Twenty names will be drawn for the opportunity to fish for the IGFA NYS Junior Angler Championship on Saturday, June 4, and 60 names will be drawn to fish with five Clayton fishing guides on Sunday, June 5. The remaining 45 will be alternates to fill spaces in the event that any of the initial 80 can not attend, since history has shown that all alternates have been able to fish due to winners not being able to attend. Youngsters whose name are drawn, all 125, will be contacted by Apr. 27 and advised of their status.

Young anglers can enter by email at www.1000islands-clayton.com/fishing. Entries by email must be received by midnight Apr. 22. Postal entries should be submitted on a post card and include the youngster's name, complete address, telephone number, date of birth, age, the name of the publication they saw the contest announcement in and the name of the outdoor writer who wrote the story. Address postal entries to: Kid's Fishing Weekend, P.O. Box 69, Clayton-1000 Islands, NY 13624 and must be postmarked no later than Apr. 20. Only one entry per person will be allowed. Duplicate entries will be discarded.
